The European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) has published its 2022 annual report, providing a comprehensive overview of its activities and achievements, and putting select data on the present state of EDQM/Council of Europe public health initiatives at your fingertips.
The EDQM continued to adapt to a changing environment in 2022, looking resolutely forward while responding to current needs. The geopolitical situation in Europe has meant changes in the configuration of working bodies, and global developments – part of the post-pandemic norm taking shape around us – continued to influence our operations and affect almost all areas of our lives. Highlights over the year included the milestone conference celebrating the publication of the 11th Edition of the European Pharmacopoeia; an evolution in the organisational structure which raised the EDQM’s profile; and key personnel changes and overall growth.
The success of the EDQM’s work in European public health systems owes much to both collaboration within the organisation and engagement with external stakeholders. Reinforcing these pillars is an important objective of our roadmap, the “EDQM 2030” strategic initiative, designed to future-proof our operations and activities.
