Following the successful completion of the Biological Standardisation Programme (BSP) study for the establishment of batch 2 of the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA for nucleic acid amplification techniques (NAT) Biological Reference Preparation (BRP), the outcome has been published in the online journal Pharmeuropa Bio & Scientific Notes: “Establishment of Ph. Eur. Hepatitis C Virus RNA for NAT testing BRP batch 2”.
The BRP is used as a working standard by manufacturers and Official Medicines Control Laboratories for routine testing of plasma pools. Fifteen laboratories from Europe and beyond participated in the collaborative study to calibrate the replacement batch.
