The International Pharmaceutical Regulators Programme (IPRP) held its 11th Management Committee (MC) meeting in Vancouver (Canada) on 13 and 14 June 2023. The European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM), an observer to the IPRP, participated in this meeting. The IPRP works to enable co-operation and promote convergence of regulatory approaches for pharmaceutical and medicinal products for human use. It brings together national, regional and international bodies active in health and regulatory issues from around the world.
During this meeting Dr Petra Doerr, the EDQM Director, was elected as the new IPRP Management Committee Chair for a period of two years. This demonstrates the importance that the EDQM assigns to the IPRP and its initiatives. Mr Teruyoshi Ehara from the Japanese Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) was elected Vice-Chair for a mandate of one year. The Management Committee also welcomed the Nigerian Drug Authority – National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigeria as a new IPRP member.
The next IPRP MC meeting is scheduled for 1 and 2 November 2023 in Prague (Czech Republic).
