Role: Senior scientific assistant – Official Medicines Control Laboratory (OMCL) Network – Batch release
Grade: B5
Salary: around €5500 per month (gross)
Contract Type: Temporary (from 1st June until 31 December)
Location: Strasbourg (France)
The EDQM’s Networks division is seeking a temporary Senior scientific assistant to join the OMCL Network team responsible for official batch release for human and veterinary medicines. As a Senior scientific assistant, you will:
- provide administrative and scientific support to the co-ordination of the activities of the OMCLs involved in Official Control Authority Batch Release (OCABR) (human) and OCABR and Official Batch Protocol Review (OBPR) (vet) ;
- draft working documents (guidelines, reports, etc.) and take part in scientific and technical exchanges with members of the OCABR and Veterinary Batch release (VBR) Networks including meeting organisation;
- Support other OMCL-bio focus activity as needed with respect to administrative and study organisation

We are looking for candidates with the following:
- hold a higher education degree or qualification (equivalent to the 1st cycle of the Bologna process framework of qualifications for the European Higher Education Area) in science, e.g., quality control of biological medicines (human or veterinary), pharmacy, molecular biology, virology, medicine, biochemistry or bioengineering or another relevant subject;
- relevant professional experience in the field of quality control in particular for biologicals, regulatory aspects related to biological medicines or pharmacy;
- good drafting skills;
- good communication skills for liaising with colleagues, experts and stakeholders;
- very good knowledge of one of the two official languages of the Council of Europe (English), in both oral and written communication, and knowledge of the other (French).
You must also:
- be a citizen of one of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe
- be under 65 years of age at the closing date of this vacancy notice
